Three Buoys Receive State Tourism Award

Eufaula’s Three Buoys House boat Vacations was the recipient of Oklahoma’s Top Tourism and Recreation Award at the 16th Annual Governor’s Conference in Tulsa last week. This award is given each year to the business that has contributed the most to tourism in the state. Glen Sullivan, Executive Director of Tourism and Recreation of Oklahoma, presented the award to Randi Carrol, one of the owners of Three Buoys. Carroll, of Calgary Canada, located 70 luxury houseboats on Lake Eufaula in Eufaula Cove this year. The new company brought national recognition to the area.
He was also one of the panelists for the statewide conference at the Sheraton Kensington. This year’s program was entitled “Realizing Our Potential.” Carroll spoke on “What are Oklahoma’s Travel Products and Resources?” Eufaula Mayor Joe Johnson, who served on the conference steering committee, was a moderator for a session on “Converting Travelers to Visitors: Reaching the Pass-Through Traffic.”
